Jean Sibelius / Jan Sibelius (a part IV)

In symphonic annals of Sibeliusa we meet absolutely others on character of the maintenance of the symphony to which it would be possible to apply the name of a vocal cycle of Musorgsky - "…хч ёюыэчр". Such is the Fourth symphony (1911), product, if not autobiographical it is doubtless, subjective. It as though immersing in depths of suffering soul. And in the Sixth symphony (1923) the gloom only here and there shined with lyrical episodes reigns.

Absolutely other world appears in the Third symphony (1907). On light colour undividedly reigning in it, a cosiness and rest tone, it is possible to name it "схёъюэ¶ышъ=эющ ёшь¶юэшхщ" an original lyrical intermezzo on a severe and courageous background of the majority of orchestral compositions.

In 1915 when Finland solemnly celebrated the 50 anniversary of the great bard, its Fifth symphony for the first time was executed. In it and in a new fashion sung, but images of the native nature constantly exciting the composer (I part), and a gait of the giant (II part), and solemn deification of the ending develop in "ушьэ сыруюфрЁхэш " lives, to the people, the country. Internally the Fifth symphony is related the Second.

The last symphony - the Seventh, consisting of one only parts, Sibelius has created in 1924, on a 60 anniversary threshold. The symphony has absorbed in itself wisdom and rest of the musician in the evening of life inspecting the passed way, again and again recollecting far years, images and events. He once again declares vivacity of spirit a magnificent dithyramb in honour of the life; it withdraws us behind itself(himself) in the wood fantastic world, where all full mysterious miracles; the grief of a mourning episode returns us to many similar pictures in which the heroes, not come true hopes are mourned; and again the major sounds, ruling is proud to lift a head and to direct eyes to the sun.

Just once, in 1925, Sibelius is declined over multilower case partiturnoj a paper when works over last symphonic product, a poem "Кряшюыр". Again it is surrounded with fantastic beings and attract in depth of the Finnish woods where wood god Tapio lives. This time the great storyteller says goodbye to the romantic world of a fantasy. He should say goodbye next year and to heroes "-рыхтры№" he will devote them Gimn Vjajne.

Some more compositions for a violin, a piano, romances, choruses will create Sibelius. But this music is lighted up by slanting beams of the coming sun... In Jarvenpjaja there has come silence... Thirty years were lived by the inspired singer of Finland, almost without touching a musical paper.

It is much written about Sibeliuse. And each author aspires to lift the veil with "=рщэ№ ьюыёрэш ". Whether secret it? Long before the way end, hardly probable not on its half, Rossini has stopped. Sixteen years of silence separates "+=хыыю" Verdi from "+шф№". The last quarter of the century of the life were spent by Glazunov in the creative silence occasionally interrupted with the composition of new products, alas, not decorated its way.

Over the Eighth symphony - not finished singing "ыхсхфшэющ яхёэхщ" - Sibelius worked many years. Some times there were messages on its termination. But the venerable composer postponed symphony publication, probably, feeling that it will be heard yours faithfully, but not with admiration...

Sibelius was not inactive even in days of extreme old age. It it is live was interested in everything that occurred in, the world, including in the world musical. Old communications with Russian music have passed in connection with music Soviet and the Soviet composers. Outstanding Soviet musicians visited a great Finnish colleague in Jarvenpjaja. Here it hospitably accepted J.Shaporina, A.Hachaturjana, D.Kabalevskogo, D.Ojstraha, E.Gilelsa.

When Sibeliusu was executed 90 years, this day in Finland became a public holiday. In reply to congratulations of the Leningrad musicians the venerable composer has sent the telegramme: "РхЁфхёэю I thank for your kind congratulatory telegramme... It has very much pleased me, and I am proud of that you have stated about my compositions. I very well know Russian music. It always made upon me deep impression, and I sincerely rejoice to that oгромному to growth, which it recently яюърчрыр".
