George Enescu / George Enesku (a part III)

In commonwealth with the visible expert on antiquity Edmonom Fleggom, the person allocated with literary talent, Enesku comes to the new, courageous concept of tragedy of tsar Edipa: relentless forces of fate are resisted by the Person. Work on the libretto for many years was interrupted with the First World War. But process vynashivanija a plan gradually went in creative laboratory of the composer. It has affirmed as several major principles to which accurate contours of formulas are given: "¤хЁтюх: all should move! Neither pathos, nor repetitions, useless speeches; action should develop quickly. The second - public should not miss. It, however, a consequence of the first. The third: the listener should understand the text. I am convinced that to an opera go not to listen to music. The successful musical drama should possess intelligible action and =хъё=юь".

In dramatic art "¦фшяр" two tragedies of Sofokla are used: "¦фшя чрЁі" and "¦фшя in -юыюэх". When were carried out, contrary to will of Edipa, fate command - Edip became the murderer of the father and the husband of mother Iokasty, that has committed suicide, and Edip has put out of itself eyes, - it has found forces to leave Thebes and, leaning about a shoulder of daughter Antigony, has gone to Attica. Here, in the city of Colon, will come fivantsy to ask to return it to Thebes. But it remains in Colon where will die, forgiven and favourite by the people who have comprehended all relentlessness of fate and greatness of the Person. Last remark of chorus shines and confirms the basic idea: "Рёрё=ышт what soul ёшё=р".

Music "¦фшяр" amazes with tragical force, depth of comprehension of feelings and experiences of heroes, vvergnutyh in abyss of disasters. In voice parts the wide amplitude of expressive possibilities of a voice is used: from the said word, a word, "яюфётхёхээю го" modulations terrible chetvertitonovyh intonations, kantilennoj lines to mighty sound naplastovany chorus.

On March, 10th, 1936 in Parisian the Grandee the Opera has taken place open dress rehearsal "¦фшяр" on March, 13th - a premiere. Phillip Gober who has spent about twenty one only orchestral rehearsal conducted. In a role of Edipa Andre Perne, the excellent opera actor has acted. Enesku dreamt of other executor, about Shalyapin. But to the great singer living last years of a life not to master any more was such grandiose problem …

After a premiere the avalanche of reviews has fallen upon Enesku. Wrote not only outstanding critics of France. Writers, composers, the poets, the largest musicians, scientific, musicologists wrote. It is amazing that in such discordant chorus there was no discord. And subsequently responses about "¦фшях" were so enthusiastic. Here short endurance from Arthur Oneggera's article, written almost twenty years later after a premiere: "¤хЁхф us the basic product of one of the greatest masters. It can bear comparison with tops of opera art. This score as is far from production of imitators of Wagner, as well as from Debussy or Puccini's imitations. This absolutely original product full tremendous drama ёшы№".

The End of 30th years - the sated strip in a life of Enesku: concerts, trips from end to end Europe, tours in America, meetings with friends and the new acquaintances, new compositions, plans.

In these difficult for Europe years Enesku was not the detached onlooker. When against republican Spain internal and external forces of fascism have united, it has occupied a clear civic stand. On December, 9th, 1937 together with the friend Pablo Kazalsom, the great musician-Spaniard, Enesku has given a concert in favour of fund of republican Spain.

This civic stand was not casual. When after years, there has come historical date of clearing of Romania from fascist dictatorship of Antonesku, George Enesku has risen for a conductor's stand and on October, 15th and 22, 1944 has given two concerts in honour of the Soviet Army. On November, 25th it has been selected by the chairman of musical section of a society of a cultural contact of Romania and the USSR.

Enesku in Paris on the night of May, 4th, 1955 Has died.

On last page of the book of the memoirs of Enesku wrote: "-юэёр  the confession, I will add only the following: in a life I did not search neither glories, nor awards. In the childhood parents give us a hoop. When we grow, the woman puts on to us a gold wedding ring. Later, to console us in an old age, friends presents us a laurel wreath. All is only one trinkets. From them I was involved only with a wedding ring.

Here and the end...

This story begun there, far, in the Moldavian steppe, comes to the end here, in the centre of Paris.

That from my native village to come to this city where my course of life comes to an end, I long went on dusty road between the trees leaving in a boundless distance. It was, certainly, a long journey. What short it to me яюърчрыё ".

...segodnja on one of the most beautiful areas of Bucharest, before a building of the Romanian philharmonic society of a name George Enesku, the monument, erected people's power to the national musician rises.

Here, to a solemn monument, winds inform from valleys of the Romanian rivers, from steppes and fields, from woody hillsides of a ballad, a song and dojny, there can be the same that in far years of the childhood have bewitched George Enesku and have specified it a way to immortality.
